Since graduating from the University of Victoria in 1984, Bruce has been prescribing exercise therapy programs for well over 25 years in many gyms, clinics, and sports settings.

A widely experienced human movement specialist and wellness coach with a broad educational and sporting background, he has played, competed, and had success in a variety of endeavors including Mountain Biking, Triathlons, International Rugby, Soccer, Baseball, Judo, and Kayaking to name a few.

Born in 1958 in Glasgow, Scotland, Bruce grew up in Victoria B.C. and has been coming to Salt Spring Island since 1965 when his parents bought recreational property on Fulford Harbour. He moved to the Island full time in 1989 to open a Bicycle Shop, (Island Spoke Folk), then an Ocean Kayaking business, (Salt Spring Kayaking), and ultimately the private Kinesiology practice, (Salt Spring Exercise Therapy) in 2000.

For the past 10 years Bruce has enjoyed assisting individuals and sporting teams overcome physical limitations, achieve higher standards of fitness, and become more aware of the physical self by employing a variety of treatment options in a relaxed and fun environment.

As a lifelong musician, nature lover, vintage wooden power boat enthusiast, and world traveler, Bruce enjoys all that life has to offer with his wife Patti from their geodesic dome home on Salt Spring Island, the largest of the Canadian Gulf Islands, and the Caribbean of Canada.
